At the July Village Board meeting, Village President Fred Gougler recommended Joan Frazier to fill the eight-month vacancy left when Trustee George Warga moved from the Village in May. The Village Board agreed with President Gougler’s recommendation, and Joan was sworn-in as Trustee.
Joan served as Village Trustee from 2007 from 2015, during which time she participated on the Personnel Compensation and Benefits Committee, the Home Rule Task Force and the Capital Improvement Study group. She is committed to enhancing the beauty of Northfield and helped develop the infrastructure plan that is now being implemented.
President Gougler stated, “Given the short length of the term, Joan was a logical choice. The Village is at an important implementation point on a number of projects, including the recently approved referendum. Joan is a great choice to fill the vacancy because as a former Trustee, she can easily transition into the position and is familiar with the projects.”
Joan’s appointment will expire in May of 2017. Anyone interested in filling the positions of Trustee or President are encouraged to complete a Caucus application questionnaire before August 26th.
