Bosworth Pedestrian Bridge Construction

WhatsNewPedestrianBridge

The current Bosworth pedestrian bridge structure is 25 years old and at the end of its useful life. It will be removed on THURSDAY March 9, 2023 (UPDATED DATE) from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (weather dependent).  During this time, Northfield Road will be closed from south of Alice Place to the south end of Marianos.  Alice Place and the north Marianos parking lot entrance will remain accessible.

During this time, Northfield Road traffic must approach from the south. A detour is available by taking Happ Road south and Winnetka Road west.

The bridge is scheduled to be replaced on March 29 from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM (weather dependent). During this installation, Northfield Road will again be closed from south of Alice Place to the south end of Marianos.  Northfield Road traffic will need to approach from the south.

The bridge will be closed to foot traffic from March 8- April 3. Questions should be directed to the Project Engineer, Daniel O’Connell with Christopher Burke Engineering at (847)823-0500.

The new bridge will look similar to this:
