Chicago Dance Therapy is a Northfield psychotherapy practice owned and operated by Erica Hornthal that serves our community and the surrounding suburbs. They offer counseling with a body-centered approach focused on connecting mind, body, and spirit.

Words only get us so far when expressing mental health concerns.   Since the body is where all emotions are housed, it is vital that it is addressed and incorporated into the therapeutic process.  Clients are guided into experiences that allow for deeper processing through body awareness, mindfulness, and somatic expression.  

Chicago Dance Therapy provides individual, family, group, and couples counseling. They have had great success using a combination of body psychotherapy and traditional talk therapy to address a myriad of issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, PTSD, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and traumatic brain injury.  

If you or someone you know has reached a plateau in talk therapy, has difficulty expressing themselves through traditional language, or needs a more creative approach to mental health, then Chicago Dance Therapy may be the place for them!  They accept some health insurance plans and are happy to accommodate financial needs.
