This January and February, the Village Hall Art Gallery will feature art by Lee Colpi. Lee was born and raised in St. Louis and spent much of his life in New England before moving to Chicago. He worked in medical marketing for various agencies in Manhattan before starting his own medical education agency in Connecticut. Lee has six children and is now retired and has lived in Northfield for 10 years with his wife, Anne.
Throughout his life, Lee has enjoyed painting. Although he has no formal art training, he has always enjoyed painting oil-on-canvas portraits of people, children, animals, houses... you name it! Lee finds seeing others enjoyment of his art the most pleasant part of creating pieces.
Lee’s work captures personality and life in every piece of artwork, regardless of whether the painting is of people or landscape. His soft edges and color palette attempt to offer the viewer a feeling of the way things are at a point in time when peacefulness and harmony reign and our fast-paced world is captured in a happy moment.
Please join us on January 18 for Lee’s gallery opening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Village Hall. You can also view the exhibit any time Village Hall is open, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM.
