JANUARY 4, 2021 HEARING ON ADULT-USE CANNABIS DISPENSARIES:
The Village Board of Trustees has asked the Plan & Zoning Commission to hold a public hearing regarding proposed text amendments to the Village Code that would allow adult-use and medical use cannabis distribution organizations (dispensaries) in the B-1 Community Commercial District (along Waukegan Road) and in the O/R Office/Research District (along Central Avenue and Frontage Road). The proposed amendments would only allow adult-use cannabis dispensaries under a special use permit which would require zoning hearings and Village Board approval for individual businesses. The proposed text amendments also establish a number of regulations on security, advertising and minimum distances to sensitive uses such as schools, parks, daycares and houses of worship. The meeting (held via Zoom webinar) will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021, at 7 p.m.. See meeting link/dial-in information below.
