Brightmont Academy, a one-student-to-one-teacher school, has opened a new campus on September 23, 2020 at 1799 Willow Road in Northfield. Brightmont gives students personalized instruction and greater opportunities for academic success. Offering 6th-12th grade courses and reading intervention and math skill building for K-12, the Northfield campus is one of the two new locations in Illinois and its unique architecture and design makes it a standout amongst Brightmont's 16 locations nationwide.
Brightmont Academy is a nationally accredited private school that offers a flexible, customized learning alternative to traditional schools. One experienced instructor works with one student throughout every learning session. Students can attend full time and earn a high school diploma, take courses to earn credit, build foundational academic skills, and receive tutoring support.
"Brightmont Academy supports students and their ability to rise to their academic potential and boost their self-esteem by individualizing the learning process with one-to-one instruction," says Karen Buckner, President of Brightmont Academy. This alternative model has been effective at Brightmont for more than 20 years. Students connect with their teachers in the one-to-one setting and make significant academic progress while gaining self-confidence. Brightmont serves students with a range of learning needs including those who have learning differences, those who want to accelerate their studies and those whose needs aren't met in traditional schools. The safe learning environment and supportive teachers at Brightmont are integral to the emotional well being of all students, including those with anxiety and/or depression or those who have been bullied. Flexible scheduling is offered to students year round and students can start at any time. This additional customized aspect of the student's academic program allows them to balance other priorities outside of school.
A Grand Opening Open House is being held on November 19, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Karen Buckner at (254) 518-0074 or visit us at 1799 Willow Road in Northfield.
