This November and December, the Village Hall Art Gallery will be featuring art created by Susan Bennett. Susan has lived in Northfield for 38 years and has explored her world and emotions through painting over the past six years.
Although she finds inspiration in her everyday world, travel has also influenced her work. The main focus of this exhibit is her interpretation of a recent trip to Peru. Awed by the different colors and terrain, Susan learned that Peru is much more than Machu Picchu. Her works represent her feelings and vision in two dimensions using line, color, shape, texture, and composition.
Despite majoring in art education, Susan never found her way into a classroom. Her loose abstract style is a complement to the structure and stress of her past career in IT. She has had solo shows through the North Shore Art League and North Shore Community Bank. She was juried into the Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists “Later Impressions” and “Water” shows and Friends of Wilmette Library Annual Show.
Please join us on December 3 for a gallery opening from 6:30-8:00 PM at Village Hall. You can also view Susan’s art any time Village Hall is open, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM-4:30 PM. You can see more of Susan’s work at www.susanbennettart.com. If you have any suggestions on how to bring art to our community, please send them to mdefeo@northfieldil.org.
