The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) plans to begin reconstruction of the Winnetka Road bridge over the Skokie River, east of the Eden’s Expressway, on Monday, March 11.  IDOT plans to keep one lane of Winnetka Road open at all times, and will control the area with temporary traffic signals that will alternate the direction of traffic flows.  

Motorists should anticipate delays and are encouraged to take an alternative route if possible.  IDOT anticipates the project to be completed in June.  Any questions about the project should be directed to IDOT Resident Engineer Glen Pennington at (630)816-5940 or glen.pennington@illinois.gov.
