The Plan and Zoning Commission is in the process of discussing the Village's noise regulations and will continue that discussion at its Monday, February 4, 2019, meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Village Hall at 361 Happ Road.
The Commission is considering the following issues related to the Village's noise regulations:
- Consolidating the regulations contained in three different Chapters of the Village Code into the Zoning Code.
- Adjusting the time noise standards by broadening their applicability and increasing the distance at which audible noise is a violation.
- How the Village noise standards should be applied to park district and school district events.
The attached material provides more detailed background on these issues including a draft model ordinance that has been developed solely to stimulate discourse on our noise regulations.
The community is encouraged to provide comment at the February 4, 2019, Plan and Zoning Commission hearing. Comments can also be directed to Steve Gutierrez, Community Development Director, at sgutierrez@northfieldil.org. Any communications received by Monday, January 28, 2019, will be forwarded to the Commission prior to the February 4, 2019, hearing.
