[ARCHIVED] 2018 Construction Season

Happ-Road-Bridge-edited.jpg

The 2018 construction season is underway and there are a lot of exciting projects planned here in Northfield!  During construction there will be times when traffic is impacted and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and to plan accordingly.  The Village will provide regular updates and the construction progress can be followed here as well as through the Village's Facebook and Twitter pages.  Click here if you would like sign up to receive email or text notifications regarding construction updates and other Village news.

During construction there will be times when traffic is impacted and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and to plan accordingly.  We greatly appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.

Please contact our Public Works Department at (847) 441-3810 with any questions.

Water Main Work
The Village is working on a number of water main improvements around town.  This includes transitioning to a better-functioning main on Birchwood Lane, water main and storm sewer replacement on Lagoon Drive, and valve repair and replacement at the Reservoir.  Storm sewer work on Lagoon Drive is being done to alleviate flooding.

Roadway Work
This is the last of three years of roadway work included in the infrastructure referendum.  The first two years the Village took advantage of an unusual construction market, due to the lack of state roadway work, which resulted in a tremendous savings.  This work was estimated to cost $5 million, but will cost the Village less than $3.5 million.

The following streets will be improved this year: Ash Street, Bosworth Lane, Drury Lane, Glen Oak Drive, Graemere Street, Harding Road, Ingram Street, Maple Street, North Bristol Street, Oak Street, Old Willow Road, Orchard Lane, Pine Street (East), Southridge Terrace, Thackeray Lane (north of Bosworth), West Linder Alley, and Willow View Terrace.
